Celebrating Our Seniors
On Sunday, 9th November 2025, Balham SDA Community Church hosted a special Senior Members Celebration Lunch, bringing together senior members, friends, and supporters for a warm and joyful afternoon. Guests were treated to a delicious three-course meal, followed by a programme filled with fun and fellowship.
The event featured a lively general knowledge quiz, the sharing of cherished memories from Balham’s past, the singing of national anthems representing the diverse cultures in attendance, and a musical performance by Spiritual Combination.
Feedback from attendees highlighted how uplifting and meaningful the day was, with comments such as “a lovely day,” “well put together,” “good company,” and “so appreciated - especially as I live alone.”
Coordinators Stephanie Ferguson and Errol Anderson shared that the purpose of the event was to celebrate and honour our senior members while they are with us. “We often recognise older members only after they have sadly passed. We wanted to show them now how much we appreciate them and their contribution to our church and community.”
Before leaving, each attendee received a heartfelt thank-you card as a token of appreciation.
